Megan Bernard

ACT President

Megan Bernard is an instructional coach for Turlock Unified School District where she is assigned to brown Elementary to support colleagues teaching Transitional Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.

Megan holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and a Masters in Administration.

For the last decade, Megan has played an active part and volunteered as either Vice President or President of Active 20/30 Club of Turlock, now Advancing Children of Turlock.

FUN FACT: Megan started playing water polo in 4th grade and ended her career playing for San Diego State University 13 years later!

Cassie Abram

ACT Vice President

Cassie is an optometrist at Monte Vista Optometry where she enjoys caring for the health and vision of our Turlock community.

After growing up in Turlock, she earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of the Pacific and a Doctor of Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry.

Cassie is proud to serve her community, especially children and students in need. Along with her involvement in ACT, she is a mentor for first generation college students in Stanislaus County through the program 6 Cups to College.

FUN FACT: Cassie has made a cameo on national TV twice - once on NBC’s Nightly News and once on ESPN’s March Madness coverage.

Liz Joyce

Communications Director

Liz attended CSU Stanislaus and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Communication Studies, She then pursued her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters in Education. After teaching Kindergarten for 6 years, she decided to stay home and raise her children. Liz also works as a social media and digital marketing manager for her family business.

She is very passionate about children and serving her community. Liz also volunteers as the Administrative Vice President for the East Turlock MOM'S Club. She hopes that her involvement in these nonprofit organizations give her the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

FUN FACT: Liz's loves to go on weekend trips and vacations with her family.

Zain Joyce

Secretary

Zain is a Newman native, who moved to Turlock while earning his degree in Computer Information Systems at CSU Stanislaus. He works as a programmer where he creates iOS and web applications.

In addition to working as a programmer, he is passionate about digital marketing for small and local businesses. He values the Turlock community and continues to work closely with businesses to assist them with all of their online needs.

FUN FACT: Zain likes doing puzzles & can solve the Rubik's Cube in under 2 minutes.

Jason Bernard

Social Chair

Jason has been with the club since inception. Prior to being involved with ACT, Jason was a member of the Turlock 20/30 club for 10 years.

Jason has also been involved with One Purpose, a Stanislaus State fund raising effort and Leadership Turlock through the Turlock Chamber of Commerce.

Jason is a Captain for the Turlock Fire Department where he has worked for the last 14 years. Prior to working in Turlock, Jason worked as a firefighter with CAL Fire and volunteered with Merced County Fire. Whether Jason is at work as a firefighter or volunteering his time with ACT he has a passion for giving back to his community.

FUN FACT: Jason enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with his family.

Kadi Ingram-Porter

Community Liaison

Kadi has served as the secretary and is now the Community Liason for Advancing Children of Turlock; she has been a member for the club for the past 10 years.

Kadi works for Young’s Market Company as a Wine and Spirits Sales Representative since 2000. Kadi has spent her life giving back to her community from childhood volunteering to her dedication to her roles as New Member Educator, Vice President, and President of her sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma while attending CSU Stanislaus.

In addition to serving as Community Liaison for ACT, Kadi presently serves as the secretary for Turlock Young Professionals, a Board Member for Legacy of Hope for United Samaritans and a Board Member for VINES for CUS Stanislaus Alumnae Relations.

Danielle Emel

Treasurer

Danielle has been a member of ACT since the beginning. Danielle earned her B.S. from California State University Stanislaus and is well suited to serve as our treasurer since she works as a certified public accountant.

Danielle finds being a member of ACT a rewarding experience and values her friendships with the other members.

FUN FACT: Danielle is a twin! Her sister, Nicole, is also a member of ACT.
